Obituary of George Freda

George passed away peacefully at Arnprior Ontario on July 2, 2025. in his 86th year.

Beloved husband and best friend of the late Joan Freda for 63 years. Loving father of Karen (Rob Fletcher) of Ottawa, Kim (Tony Disipio) of Ottawa, Joanne (Glen Summers) of White Lake, Julie (Bryan Patacairk) of Almonte and David (Heather McRae) of Carp. Special Grandpa to the late Bradley, Ashley, Jade, the late Samantha, Chelsey, Colton, Carter, Jillian, Douglas and George.  Great Grandpa to Braedan, Katie, Melissa, DomInik, Lilliana, Kaladin, Tristan, June, Emmy and Eddie. Dear son of the late Nick Freda and Julia Trudeau.  Dear brother of Toni (late Mike) McKennirey of Montreal, Lois (late Tacey) Leahy of Ottawa, Garry (Helen) Freda of Carleton Place, Marty (Darlene) Freda of Ottawa, Jerry (Gloria) Freda of Ottawa , Warren (Paula) Freda of Ottawa, Paula (Pete Stewart) of Seeley’s Bay, the late Joan Layberry (late Everett Findlay) and the late Donald Freda. Brother-in -law to Gail (late Lanny) Steele of Ottawa and Wendy (Rick Ashton) of Alberta Beach and the late Donald (Cindy) Kirkpatrick and the late Robert Kirkpatrick of Ottawa.   Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Ottawa George enjoyed his work at OC Transpo while raising his children.  George enjoyed spending time with his family on weekend camping trips, travel trailer trips and many other activities.   He enjoyed fishing and hunting and the outdoors. Once retired, George and Joan together enjoyed snowmobiling, golf, cruises, travel, winters in Florida and getting together with their many friends.  George spent time on his lathe while singing country tunes.    He will be remembered for many wonderful things but above all his infectious smile. A special thanks to the Arnprior caregiving staff for the wonderful care given.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Inurment and Reception will follow.
