I was saddened to learn of Noel’s passing on June 27th instant. Fifteen years my senior, he could have been my brother but he will always be “Uncle Noel” to me. Although Noel was a “fixture” at British West Indian Airways (BWIA), greeting travelers with his ready smile, easy manner and impeccable diction, he was an avid photographer. God Alone Knows but I have posted a photo taken by Uncle Noel that may have started his hobby. I recall being told to “Sit like a lady” prior to the photo being taken. His photos captured candid moments such as my scowl at a boy who elbowed me while trying to get to toys under a Christmas tree. The unofficial photographer of the family, Noel’s collection of photos is priceless as well as timeless. As the first grandchild, I tried to follow in his footsteps by taking group photos at every family gathering but I was never quite able to capture the essence of family like Noel did. Rest in peace until we meet again. Love, Marcia
