Dear Keri and Greg & families, My deepest condolences in the loss of your Dad - a wonderful, kind, and gentle man. I remember your Dad as a quiet man who very much enjoyed and was appreciative and grateful for the important things in life - family, friends, nature, food and laughter. He was always there with support and happy to help anyone in need. He was very intelligent and creative and he loved to make unique items from scraps and he could fix anything. Grandma Gertie loved him - they enjoyed each other’s company. My friend Paul and I still talk about being at my mom Gertie’s place once and your Mom and Dad dropped in. Gertie asked Layton if he wanted a roast beef sandwich and he immediately asked in a sweet, excited way “hot beef?”. It was so cute and priceless. Of course he enjoyed a hot beef sandwich. It didn’t take much to make him happy. I regret that I didn’t get to spend more time in his presence … his simple quiet ways did inspire me. Blessed knowing that your Dad will be joining your Mom and Grandma Gertie as well as other loved ones. Thank you for caring for him and giving him back the love he so deserved. Much love, hugs, thoughts and prayers to you at this difficult time.

I have many memories of Layton & one that stands out is of him coming to our house on a go-cart he built himself with parts from a lawn mower. It was so neat & he was proud of it. We were impressed. We had some nice times with he & Claire when they lived here in NS for a time. Aaron & Keri were good friends, sadly they moved back to Ottawa. Never to be forgotten,
RIP ole friend. Condolences to Keri & family xo

Layton showed his family what unconditional love was all about. He nursed his wife over many years always at her side throughout her illness. It was a blessing that he had a little over a year to enjoy his children, nature, camping, and
so many other activities that his daughter provided for him and brought him so much joy. RIP
