Obituary of Marilyn Louise Thomson

Marilyn Louise Thomson passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 18, 2025, at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of the late Jack Thomson, with whom she shared many wonderful years and a passion for travelling the world. Loving mother of Dave and Don Thomson, and mother-in-law to Mila Thomson and the late Carolyn MacLeod. Proud grandmother to Michael, Jeffrey, and Daniel Thomson. Predeceased by her sister Shirley Mason and her parents, George and Louise Mason.

Marilyn lived life with warmth, humour, and a deep appreciation for people and experiences. She made her home in recent years at The Bradley retirement residence, where she formed many cherished friendships. She found great joy in family, listening to jazz at Buster’s and the Kanata Seniors Centre, playing bingo, and gathering for games of Mexican Train dominoes. Her wit, spirit, and love of conversation left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community at The Bradley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2pm to 4pm, at The Bradley retirement residence, 130 Goulbourn Forced Road, Kanata.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
