





Obituary of Kenneth John Hatch
Kenneth (Ken) Hatch, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 97.
Born on July 15, 1927, in Guelph, Ontario, Ken lived a long and vibrant life marked by deep devotion to his family, a passion for the water, and an unwavering love for people & animals. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Evelyn Hatch (née Hornsby), as well as his granddaughter, Robin Clarke, son-in-law Barry Mullen, his brothers & sisters, and other dear family members.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his daughters Barbara Clarke (Jim Leighton) and Susan Mullen (Wayne Smith); his grandchildren Kerry Mullen-Broderick (Sean), Brendan Mullen (Claire), Erin Clarke, and Kelly Mullen-Dennis (Jeff); and great-grandchildren Brianna, Ethan, Elliott, Lucas, Sam, Fiona, Isla, & Ellie.
Ken was devoted to his children and took immense pride in watching generations of family grow around him. His home on Grandview Road was always open to laughter and love—a gathering place where memories were made, and stories shared.
An avid swimmer well into his later years, he continued to compete in races until the age of 90—a testament to both his physical vitality and determined spirit. Whether swimming laps, fishing or canoeing, Ken loved the water & made many friends along the way.
A lifelong member of the Anglican Church, Ken’s faith was a steady presence throughout his life. His connection to Christ Church Anglican in Bells Corners reflected not only his spiritual grounding but also his commitment to community.
A memorial gathering will be held 11:00am on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Christ Church Anglican Bells Corners located at 3861 Old Richmond Road in Nepean, Ontario (K2H 5C1), where friends and family will come together to honour a life so beautifully lived.
