My Dad, James Howard and Ken were life-long friends from Guelph. They last connected for a lunch in Ottawa a couple of years ago and talked on the phone after that. Dad resides in a seniors' home in Ottawa. He will be saddened by the news of Ken's passing.

Susan, Barb snd families please accept our sincere condolences on the death of Ken. As you know, we enjoyed Ken as our neighbour for more than 35 years. We were so sorry that we were not made aware of his death by one of our closest neighbours and service until it was too late to attend. Ken was a lovely man who loved chatting with us especially when it was related to history as well as his great swimming accomplishments as well as his dedication to his church. We knew he had a long history of his family living to great ages but what a wonderful milestone for him.

I admired Ken because of his incredible achievements in swimming since he had nine Canadian gold medals for his swimming achievements. He was a very quiet unassuming man and we would go swimming together because I coached played and taught water par for over 50 years so we had a common interest in Swimming.
He was also very social and would come over occasionally with have a beer and a chat and he came also to help direct the gazebo at the end of my property next to the river at 239 Grandview.
He was a variable walking history book about the development of his favourite church in Bell‘s corners and also of the lakes and Hydro dams built up the Madawaska river.
What a superman he was.
Thank you for all your friendship, Ken.
