Aux familles Hay et Goguen,
Carmelle is a Robichaud cousin of my recently deceased mother Clémentine (daughter of Laudia and Clément LeBlanc). During a cross Canada family trip with our parents Clémentine and Oscar and siblings Luc and Lise in 1982, we paused in Ottawa and spent time with Carmelle and Bruce. They were the best hosts. Carmelle brought my sister Lise and I on a memorable visit to Parliament. She was gracious and beautiful and everyone knew her there. As teenagers, we were very impressed. My little brother Luc was not since he was not allowed to follow given his young age at the time. He still speaks of this.
I saw Carmelle on a few other occasions at my parents cottage in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent NB during the Robichaud cousin reunions that my parents hosted in the 90’s and early 2000´s. Again, gracious and beautiful… I did not realize that we shared a mutual love of opera.
