Obituary of Shirley Downing

Shirley Downing passed quietly April 6, 2025 at 4 a.m. with her daughter by her side, 2 days shy of her 95^th Birthday.

Born in Verdun Quebec in 1930 to Scottish parents Isabel and John Mason.  There were a total of 6 children in the household. She was raised in Glasgow Scotland till the age of 17 when she immigrated to Canada on her own with $30 in her pocket.  She saved her money till she was able to bring the rest of her family to Canada. Joining the Air Force she met the Love of her Life Robert "BUD" Downing and together they navigated life and raised 3 children, Judy, Bob, and Denise. Later 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She called out for "BUD" (her husband) the day before and into the evening until she passed to join him. She lived a good and long life and will be greatly missed, never forgotten and always LOVED. A private family Service will be held.
