David Nivison posted a condolence

My sincerest condolences go out to Harry's family. I am Dave Nivison, kc2tfx in Cortland, NY one of his many radio friends over the years having shared numerous over the air chats.. I was privileged to have, in the radio world, eyeball contact a few times in my home on his journey's for Winter stays in Florida.. He always left a trail of wit, kindness, knowledge, and helpfulness. He was truly a professional amateur radio station operator. Harry's banter will be sorely missed among our fraternity. Rest in peace my friend.

As kids born in 1955-ish, Harry's son Evan and I would play endlessly in our backyards and along the street. Elaine would often join us exploring and playing Hide & Seek in the family's massive garden which Harry would muscle about and till with a massive black rototiller- very impressive for young boys and girls.
I remember well the times when Harry and Mrs. Splett would prepare food for us on a summer weekend evening, and we'd use a concrete block backyard fireplace to bake potatoes and enjoy marshmallows.
As I recall, Harry was a keen Telemark skier, and also had his moments on skates on their Backyard rink.
Remembering the good things,
Rest In Peace Harry,
Gordon

I'll always remember Uncle Harry for his kind and caring info dealing with our health issues. He was always ready to take us for a guided tour of any Ottawa or Quebec regions. Harry loved sailing, and was eager to take us for a training cruise on his sailboat. Many good memories. Rest in peace, uncle Harry.

This is how I'll remember uncle Harry. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I "drove" anything. As you can tell by the smile, it's a core childhood memory. Thank you for all the times you brought us out sailing.
To all my cousins and extended family out there reading this, I hope you are all well and happy!
Rest in peace Uncle Harry.
