Obituary of Patrick Joseph Utley

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother Patrick on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the age of 63.

Patrick was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret Utley.  He was the youngest brother of John (Anne) of Kingston; Margo Seguin (Gilles) of Ottawa; and Mairi of Ottawa.

Patrick lived in downtown Ottawa for many years and had a great number of friends and acquaintances (and their dogs) in the area.  Patrick worked part-time for the Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC), as Custodian of the building in which he lived. He was frequently found conversing with and assisting other residents of the building.  Patrick also spent a lot of time at the Jack Purcell Community Centre, befriending and assisting other members; he spoke often of his friends there.

He will always be remembered for his smile and sense of humour, his laughter, his kindness and, above all, the love he gave our family and friends.

Patrick’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. followed by an informal reception onsite. Friends are most welcome.
