Obituary of Thelma Williams
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thelma Williams, who left this world peacefully and with family by her side just days before her 100th birthday. Thelma was a cherished sister, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.
Thelma leaves behind a legacy of love in her son Brian Gallagher (Judy); son-in-law Jim Stewart; grandchildren: Deb Hickey (Mike), Terri Pinch and David Stewart (Jessica); great grandchildren Lindsay Pinch (Daniel), Tiffany Hickey and Liam Hickey. Thelma is lovingly remembered by her sisters Winnifred Patterson (late Frank) and Betty Faith (late Bill), and her brothers Dwayne Holmes (late Phyllis) and Richard Holmes (Ellie).
She is reunited in peace with those who preceded her in death, her daughter Maureen Stewart, beloved sister Mabel Summers (late Laurie) and her brothers Stuart Holmes (Joyce), Fred Holmes (Barbara), and Larrie Holmes (Orleen), whom she held dearly in her heart throughout her life.
Thelma's family will always remember her kindness, quick wit, and love for those dearest to her. She found joy in simple pleasures like playing cards, solving puzzles, and reading books, where her sharp mind, playful humor, and love of friendly competition brought laughter and connection to those around her. Thelma cherished her winters in Florida, embracing the sunshine, good company, and treasured memories.
A Celebration of Thelma’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Chapel Ridge Free Methodist Church, 5660 Flewellyn Road, Stittsville, ON K2S 1S3. Guests are welcome to come and go as they like between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of the giver’s choice, in honor of her compassionate and generous spirit.
Thelma’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all she touched.
