Marjorie met her husband, who was serving in the RCAF, on a flight to Goose Bay, Labrador when her father was posted there and they married in 1953. While Brian served in the military, they lived in Sea Island and Comox, B.C., Goose Bay, Labrador, St. Jean, Quebec, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ottawa, Ontario and SHAPE in Mons, Belgium. After his retirement from the military, Brian and Marjorie moved to Mississauga in 1972 when Brian took a job with the Ontario Ministry of Health and they lived there until 1975 when they retired to Spanish Wells, Bahamas. They returned from the Bahamas in 1978 when their first grandchild was born and settled in London, Ontario until 2010 when they moved to Ottawa after Brian’s health deteriorated to live with their daughter, Wendy. Although Marjorie worked as a secretary and a seamstress and later as a property manager with Brian, her family was always her first priority. Skilled in the womanly arts, she was particularly accomplished at sewing, knitting and quilting. She was a kind & caring soul with a heart of gold who saw the best in everyone and loved her daughters unconditionally. Her ashes will be scattered in her beloved Fisherville where she grew up and where her parents retired. A memorial service will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road on Saturday, February 8th at 2:00PM, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Dementia Society or the Queensway-Carleton Hospital.
