Obituary of Stavros Panagakos

February 13, 1947 – September 16, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stavros Panagakos, aged 77, on September 16, 2024. Born in Krokees, Lakonia, Greece, on February 13, 1947, Stavros was the heart and soul of his family, known for his humor, storytelling, and unwavering dedication to providing for his loved ones.  Predeceased by his parents, Vasilis and Panagiota, and his brother George, Stavros leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria, and his cherished children, Penny (Peter) and Bill (Kim). He was a devoted Papou to his grandchildren, Stavros and Alex, whom he adored. He will be deeply missed by his brother Mimis (Barbara) and niece Panagiota (Panagiotis), along with many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive), followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery (2500 Baseline Road).

A Makaria Reception will follow at the church after the interment.
