Darlene LaHaise (née Pottery)

September 1, 1951 – July 14, 2026

Darlene LaHaise passed away on July 14, 2026.

She leaves behind her husband, Paul Foran; her loving son, Christopher LaHaise, and daughter-in-law, Catherine Prickett.

She was the cherished daughter of Joyce Pilon, sister of Gerald Pottery and Patricia Curtis, and beloved aunt to Simon and Heather Pottery, and Karen and Jennifer Curtis. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Darlene loved her cats and devoted herself to adopting and rescuing them whenever she could. She was gifted at countless crafts, including ceramics, knitting, quilting, embroidery, dressmaking, baking, and so much more. Whenever she discovered a new hobby, she seemed to master it, much to the constant amazement of her sister-in-law.

She loved a good dirty joke, and she was more than a mother—she was one of her son's closest friends and confidants. She was adored by her colleagues, welcomed her son's friends with warmth and kindness, and will be greatly missed by her extended family.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, July 26, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at her son's home at 4:00 p.m. following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dickie's Cause 4 Paws, the cat rescue organization that Darlene proudly supported by making quilts and championing its work. Donations may be sent to Dickiescause4paws@outlook.com
