Obituary of Susan Ditmar

Susan Jane Ditmar passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family and close friends. She was 69 years old.

Born on May 13, 1957, Susan lived a life defined by her deep love for her family, her fierce loyalty to her friends, and her vibrant passion for exploring the world. She loved to travel, always embracing the excitement of discovering new places and creating lasting memories along the way.

Susan is survived by her beloved mother, Barbara Richmond. She was predeceased by her father, Anatol Ditmar, and her brother, Geoff Ditmar.

A proud and devoted aunt, Susan leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Leicy-Ann, Ashley (Joe), Robyn, Andrew, and Timothy. She will be deeply missed by her great-nephews, Carter, Trey, Austin, and Lukas, and her great-niece, Charlie, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Susan’s life was further enriched by decades of close friendships. She leaves behind her deeply valued, loyal friends, Olita and Mark Cloutier, who were a constant source of strength and happiness.

A celebration of life will be held to honour Susan's memory and her adventurous spirit.
