Obituary of Ronald Argue
In Loving Memory of Ronald (Ron) Howard Argue
June 14, 1933 to June 1, 2026
Proud of his Christian heritage, Ron spent his lifetime encouraging others in their faith. He has crested his final hill, seen the promised land, and been welcomed home by the Lord. True to Genesis 25:8, Ron breathed his last, dying at a good old age, full of years, and was gathered to his people.
Born on June 14, 1933, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Albert Howard Argue and Gladys Hamilton Argue (nee Robinson), Ron grew up alongside his siblings, Terry Argue and Leslee Argue. He possessed a deep affection for his large extended family, carrying those connections with him throughout his life.
When it came to things of the heart, Ron was a man of few words, but his actions and devotion spoke volumes. On June 25, 1966, Ron married Andrea Argue (nee Ritchie) and built a life rooted in family, faith, and service. He deeply loved and was immensely proud of his daughter, Jennifer Kloet (nee Argue), and his son, Geoff Argue. His joy only expanded with the addition of his "son-in-love" Jeff Kloet and "daughter-in-love" Jill Kovacs-Argue (nee Kovacs). When his five amazing grandchildren—Jacob, Andrew, James, Luke, Eva—came into the world, Ron’s heart was truly full.
Ron pursued his education at McGill University in Montreal, a foundational time that launched a diverse career. He began his professional journey with Coca-Cola before transitioning to Sears Canada as a buyer. Ron then dedicated himself to public service with the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, first in Cornwall, Ontario, and later in Parry Sound. He eventually joined the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in Ottawa as an internal auditor, retiring at the age of 61.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ron was a man who felt a profound connection to the Canadian wilderness. He was happiest when outdoors—whether camping, canoeing, or fishing. Back at home, he was equally energized by a good political debate around the dining room table, trading ideas with sharp intellect and enthusiasm.
In the end what defined him most was the love he poured into people he cherished. His family was his proudest achievement, his constant source of joy and the centre of every choice he made. Though his presence will be profoundly missed, the steadiness and devotion he gave so freely live on in the hearts he shaped. His legacy is not measured in years, but in the deep, enduring love he leaves behind.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp ON, K0A 1L0 on July 4, 2026 at 2:00p.m with reception to follow. For those unable to attend in person, you are welcome to join via the following link Ron Argue Memorial Service Recording In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice Care Ottawa.
