Obituary of Clenwart Richins

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Clenwart Patrick Richins on May 4, 2026, a short two weeks after the celebration of his 90th birthday.

Born in Freeport, Trinidad, in 1936, Clen immigrated to Toronto in the late 50’s to further his education and career leanings in public service.

Loving husband of Roslyn Richins (deceased). Proud and loving father of Anne Holness, Leon Richins (Roberta) and Evan Richins, and grandfather of Rejoyce, Jahlisa, Brenna and Tyana. Dearest brother to Wendy Ramadin, Evelyn Inniss (deceased), and Yvonne Richins-Bynoe (deceased). Uncle to Brian, Kirk, Howard, Jamila, Donna-Marie, and Troy, leaving behind an extended family of cousins and a circle of friends he spoke about often with great joy and pride.

Clen will be remembered for his unwavering pride in his birthplace and its community, his entrepreneurial spirit, his love of nature and participation in sports, and the sheer enjoyment he took from analyzing and following the stock market.

The family extends its deep gratitude to the wonderful team at Venvi Valley Stream Retirement Living whose care and support freed Clen to focus on his own life enjoyment in his last few years. Special thanks as well to all the medical and support workers who provided care for Clen in so many domains while patiently respecting his fervent principles of independence and natural treatments.
