Obituary of John Goold

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John on May 15, 2026 after a full 93 years.  Predeceased by his wife Bev and brothers Cecil (late Gloria), Billy (Joyce) Eddy (late Jackie) Gary Holz (Brenda) and sister Kay/Bubbles (late William).  Born to parents Fred and Dorothy Goold November 27, 1932 in Ottawa where he resided throughout his life. 

John was a devoted father to Sharon Rosewarne, Cathy Rousseau (Perry) and John Goold Jr. (Norma). Grandfather to Julia, Eric, Jessica (Lake),  Elizabeth (Toby), Jordan and Ethan.  Great-grandfather to Logan and Ellie.  God-father to Susan Scheel (Bill). 

John shared his enthusiasm for life and will be fondly remembered by his Nieces, Nephews, extended family, friends, co-workers from Ottawa Public Health, fellow tenants at Lynwood Retirement Community and so many John met even briefly through Golf, Curling, Fishing, following Jr Hockey, Skiing and involvement in Knights of Columbus and Ottawa Sport and Social clubs.

Family and friends are invited to join us June 10, 2026 3 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery for interment followed by a gathering at the Royal Oak Centrepointe 3:30 - 5 p.m.
