Obituary of Maynard Paul Crawford

Maynard Paul Crawford aged 70, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

Son of the late Stewart & Juliette Crawford. Born in Ottawa on June 12, 1955, Maynard lived a life shaped by both joys and challenges. Though his path was not always easy, and his presence not always consistent, his life touched many in different ways and left behind a family who carries both memories and reflections of him.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Eric & Sarah Crawford (Lucas) both of whom carry forward pieces of his story, and by his cherished grandsons, Jamison & Ryland, whose lives continue the legacy of family. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine & brother-in-law Ismail (Haluk) Elmas & half brother Donald. Predeceased by his half sister, Gail. He will be sorely missed by his dear friend Donald Cameron with whom he shared many meaningful memories.

He will be remembered with kindness by Margaret with whom he shared an important chapter of his life and the raising of a family. Though their lives took different paths, the connection of family and friendship remained.

Maynard leaves behind not only memories, but also lessons, moments of laughter, stories told, and opportunities for healing and understanding.

As his family and friends remember him, they do so with compassion, acknowledging the fullness of a life lived and the people who mattered most to him.

He will be deeply missed and thoughtfully remembered.
