Our sincere condolences to Joe, Mary’s siblings and extended family. We met Mary playing softball more than 40 years ago. Post-game pizza and beer turned into many more social gatherings, cottage visits, BBQ nights and general good cheer. Mary was more often than not the centre of attention with her stories and her take on the world around us. As others have observed, she was rarely shy about voicing her opinion, but coming from a place of genuine caring. She left an indelible mark and we will miss her greatly!

My condolences to Joe, and families
Mary, I miss you dearly my friend, and will cherish our friendship forever. We shared many long talks on the drive up to Rosie’s cottage over the years with laughter & tears and appreciation for her honesty and direct opinions. Many goods times at the cottage & just meeting up for lunch discussing food, men & life whatever was happening.
You are greatly missed!

Mary defined the metaphor of being able to light up a room. Her smile felt like a warm hug, and her heart was visible in her eyes, and in the way she loved her family and friends. My heartfelt condolences to Joe and all her loved ones. Holding you all - and my memories of Mary - in my heart.

My heart goes out to Joe, as well as Mary’s siblings and nieces and nephews. I knew Mary through my dear friend Helen, and I was enamoured by their sisterly bond, so beautiful and so close. Mary was bright and charming, and she plainly loved being with people. She was so engaging to have a conversation with because she had a curiosity about life and was really interested in what you thought. I cannot believe we have lost her so soon. We will all miss her.

Mary and I have been friends for close to 50 years, 50 great years. Lots of travelling, lots of dinners, wine, talking, sharing and listening. I have no words to express the depth of the friendship, and now the loss. She helped me deliver my son. My heartfelt condolences go out to Joe, Helen, Andy, Frank and family. Mary is irreplaceable, one of a kind, and I look forward to meeting up with her again. Until then, Bon Ami, we will miss you. Love

The world lost a wonderful soul and I lost a very dear friend and neighbour on February 1st. Mary was vivacious and caring, with a kind and warm heart and an infectious laugh. I deeply miss the times we spent together, baking bread and cakes, going on shopping excursions and getting pedicures. But what I miss most of all is the great conversations we shared just walking our dogs together around the neighbourhood. I still have a little of Mary's jam left in my fridge that she gifted me at Christmas, and I will savour every spoonful. My heart goes out to Joe and Lexi and Mary's family and friends. Our shared grief is all we have left to offer her, and she deserves every tear and every fond memory.
