Grafton was my brother-in-law and always accepted me as part of the Spooner clan. He demonstrated true love in marriage and was a mentor to many married and courting couples alike. He was a great conversationalist on varied subjects and kept your attention by watching you directly in your eyes...you could not be distracted; you dare not be, for those piercing eyes would instantly have you refocus. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren - that love was reciprocated. I would miss our conversations for he was well-read. He was devoted to his church and advocated for education for the less fortunate and for fairness in the use of the church's finances. Let's take a page out of Grafton's life, whether in his role as spouse, father, brother, cousin, grandfather, uncle, nephew, counselor, educator, philanthropist, disciple of Christ, or in any other unmentioned role, his actions were Spirit-directed and his faith in God strong. I thank God for the belief we both share about the resurrection. We mourn not as those without hope. See you in the morning Grafton!

Though I never had the honor of meeting Grafton, I know from Taki’s stories and the love she carries for him that he was a wonderful person. His legacy of kindness, strength, and love is evident in the incredible person Taki is today. My thoughts are with your family during this difficult time. May his memory, and a life truly well lived, bring you comfort and peace.

To: Nataki and Family, please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time of grief. Please remember God's promise in John 11:25 KJV -
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
I remembered Mr Spooner as a kind man of protocol. Sincerely Esther Newton

Grafton was a kind and thoughtful man, whose words always seemed to hit the mark. I learned much by just listening to him and observing his actions.
If I were asked to describe Grafton in a few words. I would say he was a teacher, a mentor and most importantly, a child of God.
Our deepest condolences are expressed to the Spooner and Edwards family. We will mourn with you so that we will rejoice with you.
