Obituary of Kim Leblanc

With the deepest sadness, we announce the sudden passing of a beautiful spirit, our mother Kim. On Sunday January 25, at around 2pm, after a medical emergency at home a few short hours before, our sweet mother took her final breaths surrounded by loving hearts. Those of us who hurt in these trying times take solace and comfort that her passing was quick and without pain, her precious hands gently resting in those of her children.

With tremendous strength of character inherited through a strong maternal figure, and an unyielding dedication to those closest to her through her paternal line, she fearlessly waded through the world never allowing the despairs of life to crack her beautiful smile. Always welcoming to those she spoke with, promoting goodness and empathy, her bright light never wavering.

Her imagination and creativity were sparked at a young age thanks to her childhood in Europe visiting castles and checking under troll bridges. Ever the bookworm, the worlds of fantasy and science fiction held her sway, inspiring unique creations and revealing a depth of imagination like few others. Her passionate streak of artistry gave way to endless creative crafts, paintings, and works that will be enjoyed and preserved with care going forward.

A lover of things that were old, unusual, and downright strange, Mom enjoyed scouring thrift stores, church bazaars , garage sales and estate sales, seeking treasures others would overlook, finding the connection of friendship as often as an antique. After many years of collecting, she knew a lot about vintage/antiques and never shied away from sharing her knowledge. Her sparkle made it so she met many friends while roaming the aisles, and she knew every single thrift store employee by name.

From supportive words of encouragement, to fresh baked treats, her generosity, thoughtfulness and boundless hope drew everyone closer to her, intrigued by her adorably mismatched earrings and perpetual whimsy.

Her family wasn't just her children, or life-long friends, she held a special place for everyone she connected with. She is survived through those she touched with her positive outlook and ever-present joie-de-vivre. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Paige, son Alex, as an ‘other mother’ to Olivia as well as many close friends and family especially James, Anne-Marie, Patti and Ross.

As per our mother’s wishes, no funeral service will be held, instead a celebration of life will be planned for the summer.
