Obituary of Gloria Mick

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom, Gloria Mick (Wilson), on January 20th, 2026 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Predeceased by her loving husband Ron Mick.Gloria is survived by her children Stephen Mick (Lesley), Paula McGetchie (Kevin) and Julie Mick (Glen).  She was also the proudest grandma of Ella, Bea, Paige, Norah and Ben. Gloria is survived by her brother John Wilson (Karen), sister in law, Gail Stokes and brother in law, David Briscoe. Special friend of Johnny Boyd and the Boyd family. 

Predeceased  by her parents Norman and Sadie Wilson, brother in law, Dalton Stokes, and sister in law, Bev Briscoe. 

She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Doucette (Mark), Greg Stokes, Lisa Mosseau (Steven), Vicki Wilson (Jeff), Jason Wilson (Kathleen) along with her many great nieces and nephews. 

Gloria was a long time resident of the Carp community.  Her love of people and children allowed her to run a successful daycare.  Not only did she love the children she cared for, their families became her family.  She loved each child like her own. Every child’s birthday or holiday was celebrated at Gloria’s house. 

Her infectious smile and laughter could light up a room. She made everyone feel welcome and her door was always open. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and friendship and will be missed by so many. 

Special thanks to the kind and compassionate staff at The Queensway Carleton Hospital for providing such wonderful care to mom. 

Visitation will take place at Cole Funeral Home, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, Ontario on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10:30am followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Following the funeral service, an informal reception will be held at the Carp Agricultural Hall, 3790 Carp Rd, Carp Ontario.
