Obituary of Brenda Anne Hendy (nee Patmore)

Brenda was born and raised at Fordingbridge in the New Forest, UK.  She met John at a dance in the Church Hall and they were married there in 1961.  After a short spell in UK they came to Canada in 1964 and settled in Fort William, and that is where their two children, Julia and Trevor, were born.  After raising the children Brenda went back to work, first for the Red Cross in Thunder Bay and then after moving to Ottawa, for the Cancer Society.  Brenda was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  In 2002 Brenda’s kidneys failed. After several years of dialysis she was given a life changing transplant. We are deeply grateful to the kidney transplant team at the Riverside Clinic for the many years of care.  Brenda suffered a stroke on New Years Eve a passed away at the Montfort Hospital.  Her family was with her at the end.
