Obituary of Linett Pryce

Linett Joyce Pryce passed away on January 7, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 12, 1934 in Highgate, St. Mary, Jamaica.

She is survived by her sisters Hyacinth Stewart, Audery Lewis and her many beloved nieces and nephews, her children, Monica Polite (Amin), Marlene Pinto (Giles), and Derrick Pryce, and her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Ellis.

Born in Highgate, St. Mary, Jamaica, Linett lived a life marked by determination, faith, and service. She trained as a nurse in Jamaica and England, graduating as both a State Registered Nurse and a State Certified Midwife, before settling in Canada, which she proudly made her home. She enjoyed a long and meaningful nursing career in the Ottawa area, including service at the Ottawa Civic and General Hospitals and with the Victorian Order of Nurses, retiring in 2004. Faith was the bedrock of her life, and for more than 50 years she was a devoted member of the Ottawa Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she formed lifelong friendships and was honoured in 2024 for her years of service. Guided by compassion and a deep sense of responsibility to others, she remained actively involved in her community and charitable causes throughout her life.

Her life reflected quiet devotion, marked by grace, kindness, and a joyful laugh.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to family, friends, and members of the church community for their prayers, compassion, and unwavering support during her illness
