Obituary of Moshe "Mike" Shimshon Baba

Moshe (Mike) Shimshon Baba passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by his family. Born on December 27, 1943, Mike was proud of his Assyrian heritage and Christian faith, which remained central to his life.

He worked for many years in the import and export business. Mike was known for his generosity and commitment to community service. He was a dedicated blood donor and was recognized by Canadian Blood Services for exceeding 100 blood donations. He also raised funds in support of cancer research and volunteered with Elections Canada over the course of many years.

Mike was predeceased by his wife, Victoria Baba, in 2010, following 35 years of marriage.

He is survived by his sons, Paul and his wife Nina, and Peter and his wife Amber; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Adriana, Elizabeth, and Eliana; his brother, Youkhana; his sister, Elishwa; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on January 8, 2026 11:00 a.m. at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance Services

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and devotion to family.
