Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of James for 51 years. Loving mother to Bill Polimenakos (Kohar) and Effe Pezoulas (Chris). Cherished grandmother to Ani (Peter), Nicolas (Claudia), Sofia (Matt), Antonio, and Daphne (Vincent). Great-grandmother to Andreas. She will be missed by her brother, sister, brother-in-laws, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Born in Greece as one of 26 children, she immigrated to Canada at the age of 28, where she built a life filled with hard work and generosity. She owned both a restaurant and a tailor shop, and even in her later years she continued to sew and alter clothing from her home. She also cooked for her entire family with endless love, always giving of herself and never asking for anything in return.
Those who wish to pay respects may do so at Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Dr.) on Friday, December 5, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery, followed by a Makaria reception in the Church Hall, lower level.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church or the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.
