Obituary of George Kakavas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Kakavas on November 29, 2025 at the age of 81.

He will be missed by his children Agathi (George Kontogiannis) and Argiro (Terry Tsigos) as well as by his beloved grandchildren John , Georgia, Georgia, and Nick.

George was predeceased by his devoted wife Georgia and his brother Elias. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Litsa (late Yianni) and Velisaria (Dimo) and their families.

George immigrated to Canada in 1970 and settled in Ottawa where he met his future wife Georgia. They married in 1971 and enjoyed 24 years together until her sudden passing in 1995.

He was a hard working man who cherished the company of family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A private funeral and celebration of life was held on December 1st, 2025.
