She was preceded in death by her late husband Clarence (Clarie) Fentiman and her second husband Richmond (Dick) Atkey. She was also predeceased by her late son David Fentiman (Brenda) and her siblings Wesley, Nola and Shirley.

Val is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grand-children and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Val will be greatly missed by her entire family and her partner Gustav as well as by her many friends at Hazeldean Gardens retirement home where she and Gustav have resided for the last four years.

She loved any opportunity to gather and laugh with friends and family, and stayed very active in her later years, enjoying bridge, swimming, gardening, walking, and knitting. Val will be long remembered for her sense of humour, positive spirit, and dedication to family. She remained proudly independent until the end, loved to laugh, had a welcoming smile for everyone, and a determined spirit.

Her 100th birthday was celebrated recently by all of her children and their families. Congratulations on a wonderful long life Mom, Grandma, GG, GGC.
