I met Betty 40 years ago when I went to Ottawa as a student. She welcomed me into her home as a boarder, but before long she became so much more than that- a friend, a confidant, and like a second mother to me.
Her kindness, generosity, and laughter filled every room she entered and her care helped shape some of the best years of my life.
Though time and distance may have come between us the bond we shared never faded. I will always remember her warmth, wisdom, and the love she showed dearly, but her spirit will live on in the hearts whom she touched.
Rest in peace my dear Betty. Thank-you for crossing my path on my journey in this world.
