To the family
I’m sorry to hear about Don passing away. He was my hockey coach in Nepean, when I was 13, and he was an excellent coach, and friend to us kids. He was caring, knowledgeable, compassionate and kind. We had a great team that year, won almost every game. After we won the Championship, Don and his family hosted a party in their home, such wonderful memories.
Even after Don coached me, I would have him as a referee in our games, He was often near me on the ice, and he was still coaching and giving me tips. I adored him.
Unfortunately I never ran into him as an adult to thank him, but to his family, I hope you understand how much he meant to kids like me. He was an important figure and role model to kids lucky enough to cross his path. Bless you Don !
My deepest condolences, Don was a man I shall never forget. A spectacular role model for youth
