Dear Gail and Rob, Brian and I were truly saddened at the news of Ed's passing. Ed was my trusted advisor and confidant when I was the controller at Calian Technologies in the late 1980's. I fondly remember his sage advice, devilish grin, the glint in his eyes, and his East Coast sense of humour. Later on in the 1990's, Brian met with Ed on numerous occasions for career advice and mentoring as he transitioned from the Government of Ontario to the management cadre of the Federal Public Service. Ed was someone who made you think and work towards solutions. Rest in Peace Ed, though we are sure he has kept everyone entertained since his arrival at that big card game in the sky. Gail sent me a text informing me of Ed's passing on July 25th. I had visited Ed and Gail with Jim, John and Terri in early June. Ed was lucid but it was obvious the he was struggling. I was fortunate to be able to say good bye to Ed while he was still with us. Our history goes back 60 years and we were the best of buddies. Our Canada day celebrations at the Hull marina, our nights of playing cards, our road trips promoting national unity our New Years Eve parties, our lengthy business conversations etc. I will miss you dear friend, your family and friends will miss you. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go to Gail, the family and friends. God bless you, RIP buddy.
