Theo Spiro will forever have a special place in my heart. I can’t remember the last time he referred to me by name. It was either Kira Mou, or Bouzouki head. I will forever miss his “why you wear that?” “Why you look like that?” and “no!” Then he’d start laughing and kiss my head. I love you Theo Spiro. Thank you for everything you did for the family. I have very fond memories of Theo Spiro, he was such a big part of my childhood. MY UNCLE SPIRO WAS ONE OF THE MOST DEDICATED FATHER & GRANDFATHER THAT I HAD THE HONOUR OF KNOWING. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE ENDLESS HOURS IN THE BACKYARD AND FAMILY ROOM WITH HIM ALONE, TALKING ABOUT EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING ESPECIALLY ABOUT HIS TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS FROM MOTHERLAND (GREECE) TO CANADA. VERY DETERMINED TO MAKE IT IN CANADA, HIS FIRST DREAM WAS TO PURCHASE HIS HOUSE AND ESTABLISH ROOTS. FAILURE WAS NOT PART OF HIS VOCABULARY NOR AN OPTION. My deepest condolences to the family. Spiro and the family have made me feel like a part of their family since I was a teenager, a long time ago. I have so many memories that I will cherish forever. From our early morning chats at the restaurant to an abundance of delicious food during the holidays. I will lovingly miss being called “stooopid” for spending too much money. I will miss the Greek rules of poker where apparently the 3 of hearts beats a full house. For whatever reason, I could never win. Going to a Senator’s game with Spiro is something I will never forget. Peter and Gina, know that I feel your grief along with your beautiful families. Together, we will get through this and as you support each other, the grief will turn to fond memories of Spiro and Voula. These memories will keep them in your lives forever. May God rest his soul.
