To Sonia, Jared and all of John’s family, I am deeply sorry to hear of John’s passing. Every time I think of John, I picture him with an incredible smile and a level of patience that cannot be matched. He always took the time to listen when you had an issue and tried to assist you in reaching a good outcome. I had not seen John for several years, but he crossed my mind periodically. He will be missed by so many people who were privileged enough to have met him

When I think of JOHN, I think of him smiling, laughing, always happy. I think of him interacting with my young son Robert, and he was always so good with the kids. He was patient, kind and had all the time in the world for them. I see him popping in on the family calls with his big smile. He will be missed.

Sending my deepest condolences to Sonia, Jared and John's entire family. John was my neighbour for a brief 4 years. In that time I got to know John as someone who always had a hello and a smile and some ear scratches for my dog. He will be deeply missed by many.

To Sonja, Jarod and Aggie. Having worked with John for nine years, I cannot even begin to feel the loss that you must be feeling. It was an honour and a privilege to know and work with John. He was an amazing human being filled with care and compassion and an amazing smile and a good story. No matter when or where I bumped into him in the 20 years since I worked with him it was always meeting an old friend as if you had only not seen one another for a couple of days. His IKEA family is saddened to hear this news. My heartfelt condolences to you all. I only wish that one day the cherished memories, moments and life lessons John left you will fill the immense hole you must feel in your hearts today. Dan Sloan

I attended Opeongo High School with John. We shared English class with Mr. Price and got ourselves into trouble quite a few times for chatting back and forth. We shared lots of laughs. When I told him I had 7 sisters, he told me he had 10 sisters and I wasn't sure if I should believe him. "I'm telling you it's true" he said. John had a wonderful personality and was a caring man even back in his teenage years. Though I never stayed in contact with John after high school I never forgot him and I was shocked and saddened to see his obituary in the Eganville Leader. A fine man gone too soon. My condolences to all of you. Debbie Kasdorff

To Sonia and all your family, friends and work family. I worked with John in the early 2000's when I relocated from Calgary Ikea to Ottawa. John had impact, and he left impact on my time working with him. I was SO fortunate to know him. With inevitable changes in jobs, I always managed to run into him and loved catching up with him. Sonia, to you, his family and all his friends, I am so sorry to hear this news and offer my deepest sympathy to you. His legacy is one of kindness, thoughtfulness and joy. Dean Johnson

My brother John gave the best smiles, hugs and love ya's. We shared a common interest as we both always had dogs. He always gave me mindful advice. As I live in BC he made time to see Gary and I wherever we wanted to meet. Even if it was sometimes in a parking lot in our motorhome. Many laughs of our live on the farm in Eganville and then our lives in the present. John had a great smile and the greatest listener. John will always have a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten. If you are lucky enough to have a brother, give them a big hug and love ya, because they may not be there tomorrow. Love your sister Brenda
