My sincerest condolences to the entire family. Emily was a bright light who seemed to always have a permanent smile and positive outlook, which is a rare trait today - any day! Such a trait is all the more impressive when one thinks of her early years in a remote outport town of Newfoundland, where I grew up, but in more modern times and less remote than in Emily’s days. (Her mother Min was my Grandfather George’s sister). The town was only accessible by boat when Emily lived there, but never something she complained about then or since. (That great picture of her shows her in a boat going out the Bay!). Rather, she relished reminiscing about her formative years growing up and embracing school, contributing to school year books, even teaching for a time. Her leadership skills came early! She clearly passed that on to her family. We always enjoyed talking with Emily and the occasional get together and phone chats over the years. There were always a lot of laughs. She liked to laugh and reminisce! She was indeed a positive force of nature who will not be forgotten by those who knew her! RIP
