I agree completely with the comments made by Holger Kluge. I worked with Ian in International Credit at Head Office and he was a pleasure to work with. He was brilliant when it came to credit assessment. I last communicated with Ian when his wife, Mary died. It was so good to hear from him at that time.

My condolences to the family on the passing of Ian. He had a remarkable career at CIBC. His knowledge of banking and especially credit assessment was admirable. It was never easy to turn down a credit request but he did so very professionally explaining the reasons and suggesting remedies. Ian had a dry sense of a humour and when he had to turn down a credit request, he would privately say to me « this turkey won’t fly ». May Ian Rest In Peace.
