    Helen Esther Brophy

On September 13th, 2020, Helen Brophy, at the age of 77, a devoted mother, grandmother and dear friend to all, passed away peacefully with her two daughters Linda and Colleen by her side.

Although Helen spent the last few years of her life battling dementia, she will always be remembered by the way her smile lit up a room, her unconditional love for her family and friends as well as her love for music and sitting down playing her piano.

Helen will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Linda Corrigan-Stevens (Paul), Colleen Barrie (Jeff), loving granddaughters, Alyssa (Matthew McIntyre) and Julia Barrie as well as  her daughter's father, Barry Corrigan.

Her family would like like to give an honourable mention to Jane Burt. Jane provided the utmost compassionate care on a daily basis to Helen for over six years, that always brightened her day. Her family would also like to thank all the second-floor staff at Garden Terrance, as well as her dear care givers, Tina, Wendy and Brenda.

A private family burial will take place in Helen's hometown of Beachburg, Ontario on September 17th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.

Sorry for your loss Linda, Colleen and family. Thinking of you during this tough time. Xoxo
My sincere condolences to 2 darling daughters, Linda & Colleen and all the family & friends who love Helen as I do. I will forever miss my beautiful friend with the brightest smile and personality I have been so blessed to enjoy during our years as neighbours & friends. Helen always loved to sing with me as she played songs like Amazing Grace. I will sing it to her while home alone & hope her spirit feels the love.
Forever your Unconditional friend, as she used to say! Love Always, Sandra XO

Love the picture you have chosen of your mom, and beautiful tribute to a loving, dedicated, spiritual lady. I loved my time with Helen sharing the barbecue, pictures of my cats, singing hymns together, praying together, and of course that little flirty side of her. She will be missed by so many. She is now free of her dementia prison, and is with her God. love, hugs, prayers, tina
